ANNOUNCEMENT OF 2016 LONDON CONFERENCE
In 1953, psychoanalyst and anthropologist George Devereux published a collection of works from various psychoanalysts entitled Psychoanalysis and the Occult, which explored the intersection between the practice of psychoanalysis and occult phenomena, including contributions from Freud himself on ‘Premonitions and Chance’, ‘Psychoanalysis and Telepathy’, and ‘The Occult Significance of Dreams’. Additionally, Freud’s paper ‘Notes on the Unconscious’ was published in the journal of the Society for Psychical Research in 1912. Since that time, however, the majority of psychoanalysts willing to traverse occult terrain have worked within a Jungian framework, as the topic itself was central to the split between Freud and Jung, with the former insisting the burgeoning field of psychoanalysis be scientific and not spiritualist. However, Freud maintained an interest in occult phenomena longer than many of his followers would like to believe, and the time has come to explore this aspect of his work further.
Until now, the intersection of psychoanalysis and the occult has perhaps been most richly explored through the arts. Most well known are the Surrealists, who espoused Freud’s theories, and who were fascinated by the unconscious, dreams, synchronicity, automatic writing and chance encounters. These themes and methods are also featured in the work of the Symbolists, Futurists, Dadaists, Fluxists and Actionists, as well as in the work of avant-garde artists of our day.
The purpose of this conference is to bring together a diverse group of psychoanalysts, occultists and artists to share their views on human subjectivity and culture. Through an investigation of the unique modes and methodologies utilized by each individual practitioner, we may explore human experience via the convergence of domains that rarely speak to one another yet often work in similar and complementary ways.
There will be continual updates of this site as we get closer to the date. Tickets to the conference will be sold via this site, beginning on March 15th. Speakers etc are subject to change. Beyond Psychedelics 2016 – Global Psychedelic Forum in Prague

Psychedelics have been used in manifold contexts throughout human history: from ancient traditional ways to modern medical research, to home-grown lay use and parties; from treatment, personal growth, and wellbeing to gnostic and heuristic purposes, and ceremonies serving societal needs or religious and environmental functions. Ever present within the context of the psychedelic experience is how use of these substances also affects society and vice versa, via the societal environment, norms and attitudes, with their strongest expression in legislation.
Rather than looking at psychedelics merely as chemical substances, this conference aims to focus on what is “beyond”. We want to explore the context of psychedelic use and its interaction with the psychedelic experience, and to give voice to knowledge and experience gained within multiple frameworks, as we believe that much can be learnt by sharing different perspectives.
We will be discussing the position of psychedelics within the nature, therapy, culture and society. Besides, considering the fact that the context of the psychedelic experience is influenced by its purpose, we will take a look at various purposes of the psychedelic experience, discussing them from different points of view:
Medical treatment
Self-experience for mental health professionals
Personal growth and wellbeing
Creativity purposes
Spirituality and religion
Community and societal needs
Ecology

II World Ayahuasca Conference 2016
17.-22. Oktober 2016, Rio Branco, Brasilien
Two years after the first World Ayahuasca Conference, held in Ibiza (Spain), we now take on the next challenge to bring together the international ayahuasca community in the spirit of the dialogue and exchange of knowledge and experience initiated in the first edition.
About 9,000 km. of land and water is what separates Ibiza from Rio Branco, capital of Acre, in the Brazilian Amazonia. This privileged environment offers people attending the event a dive into one of the world’s epicenters of ayahuasca: the perfect place to honor the cultural diversity of ayahuasca practices. In times of a rapid globalization of the use of ayahuasca, the dialogue about cultural recognition and protection of traditional practices worldwide is more important than ever.
In this spirit, ICEERS Foundation and all people and organisations related to the organization of the event, are working to ensure for the second time a memorable experience for those who will join us in RioBranco. More than 100 speakers will share their knowledge and expertise, we will have transcultural round-tables, we will host a film festival, count on the participation of musicians and artists, allow for the public to know the indigenous cultures from up close…and much more.
The languages of the conference are Portuguese, Spanish and English and simultaneous translation will be available in the auditorium.
