Ayahuasca ranking in France / Claude Bauchet in a judicial and administrative struggle to re-establish the truth

Presentation :
Claude Bauchet is the leader of a Santo Daime church in France.
For more than 20 years he has been fighting the French state for the right to use ayahuasca as a religious sacrament.
He is facing a 10 year prison sentence for drug use and trafficking.
As a public showcase for the (ritualised) use of ayahuasca, Claude's fight is not only his own, but more broadly that of the decriminalisation of ayahuasca, in France, in Europe and elsewhere.
Summary of the facts
On October 1, 2019, in the early morning, the French police broke in Claude Bauchet's home (near Paris), seized his ayahuasca bottles and arrested him. (Ayahuasca has been ranked in France in the No. 1 list of narcotics since 2005).
Several months earlier, an anonymous letter informed the French police that Claude Bauchet was conducting "Santo Daime" ceremonies, a religious ritual that uses ayahuasca as a sacrament.
Claude was taken into custody/detention for four days and then brought before the examining magistrate.
The judge presented the charges to Calude: "Endangering the life of others with risk of immediate death or disability", "Unauthorized transport of narcotic drugs", "Unauthorized possession of narcotic drugs", "Offering or disposal of narcotic drugs", "Importation and use of narcotic drugs".
Claude was released, but indicted by the judge, with probation.
During the investigation, which is now closed, we handed over all the documents, which scientifically prove that ayahuasca is not a danger to public health and that it is the sacrament of our religious practice.
Prohibiting ayahuasca also means prohibiting a religion and therefore violating human rights.
Claude also confirmed this in his meeting with the judge during the investigation.
He faces 10 years in prison for drug use and trafficking.
